Jim Dunn, Vice President and Chief Investment Officer, has announced a new series, “Demon Deacon Invest – Connect.”  This program aims to engage the Wake Forest community with some of the financial industry’s most brilliant and dynamic leaders. While visiting Wake Forest, these leaders will discuss a myriad of topics including private equity, hedge funds, the economy, foreign exchange and asset management.

The series will kick off with Scott Minerd and associates from Guggenheim Partners. Since 2001, Scott Minerd has served as Chief Investment Officer of Guggenheim, a diversified financial services firm with more than $100 billion in assets under supervision. Mr. Minerd was formerly a managing director for Morgan Stanley and later Credit Suisse First Boston, where he oversaw fixed-income credit trading in the United States, Europe and Asia. In this position, he was responsible for the corporate bond, preferred stock, money markets, U.S. government agency and sovereign debt, derivatives securities, structured debt and interest-rate swaps trading business units. In addition, Mr. Minerd is a regularly featured commentator on CNBC, Bloomberg Television and Fox Business news and is considered to be one of the pre-eminent voices in US fixed income and the economy.

Vice President Dunn has invited Wake Foresters to attend this event on October 1stfrom 2:00-3:30 PM in Pugh Auditorium, where Mr. Minerd will be discussing the state of economy and trends in the financial industry. Following his presentation, there will be a question and answer session.
