The University and Winston-Salem Police Departments are investigating the armed robbery of a Wake Forest student that occurred outside a University-owned house on Polo Road at 3:30 a.m. today, May 4.  The student was taken this morning to a local hospital for treatment of a facial injury sustained when the robber struck him in the face with his fist.

After parking behind the house located across from Spry Soccer Stadium, the student was approached by a man on foot. When the student rolled down the window of his car, the man spoke to him, struck him with his fist and then pointed a pistol at him.  The robber took the student’s wallet and then got back into a car driven by someone else and drove away.

The student immediately called the University Police Department.

The student described the car as a blue SUV.   He described the robber as a black man approximately 20-years-old with short hair and wearing a baseball cap, jeans and long-sleeve shirt.

He said the car followed him from a Cook-Out restaurant he visited on Akron Drive.  When he arrived at the Polo Road house, the car briefly stopped nearby, then moved close to his car.  A man then got out of the car and approached the student, who had remained in his own vehicle.

Anyone with information that may assist in the investigation is asked to call University Police at 336-758-5911.
