The Offices of Residence Life and Housing, Student Health Services, and Facilities and Campus Services are working closely with a local pest management service and the Forsyth County Health Department to respond to the individuals affected with a light infestation of bed bugs and to develop a broader campus-wide response. It is important to note that treatments are highly specialized and must be performed by trained pest control professionals. The University is working closely with our contractor to ensure the highest quality standards in treating any affected area. Bed bugs do not transmit human disease and, therefore, do not present a significant health risk. General facts about bed bugs and information about what students should do are available at the Residence Life and Housing web site.
