The following email was sent to students on Saturday, 12/1.

Dear Wake Forest students,

Reflecting its commitment to the residential student experience, I am excited to share with you that Wake Forest University has purchased Deacon Place, a housing complex just outside the Polo Road entrance to campus.

Located on the northwest corner of Long Drive and University Parkway, the development is about 300 yards from the University’s Polo Road entrance. Acquiring Deacon Place will provide expanded options for upperclass student housing, while fostering a vibrant living and learning community.

Deacon Place is an ideal housing solution and a natural extension of our residential community. Within easy walking distance of campus, Deacon Place will help Wake Forest meet the demand for more on-campus student housing. We are dedicated to offering the highest-quality residential experience and are pleased to add more apartment-style housing that is both convenient and designed with students in mind.

The ownership change will have no effect on current leases. Starting in Fall 2019, spaces at Deacon Place will be available for students through the same fall room selection process offered by Residence Life and Housing for other University housing options.

Look for more information soon on the Residence Life and Housing website. Have a great few weeks as you finish fall semester and good luck on exams!

Sincerely,

Donna McGalliard, EdD
Associate Vice President, Campus Life
and Dean, Residence Life and Housing
