The Office of Communications and External Relations sent the following email to the campus community this morning.

The Winston-Salem Police Department is investigating a home invasion that occurred at approximately 9:15 a.m. today, December 10, in the Faculty Drive/Royall Drive neighborhood immediately behind the Wake Forest campus.

Two unidentified men entered a home occupied by its two residents and demanded money.  After taking cash, the men fled to an adjacent wooded area that is part of the Reynolda estate.

The home’s residents were not injured.  They alerted police immediately after the incident.

The suspects, described as black men between 20 and 30 years old, did not display a weapon at any time.

Anyone with information that may assist in the investigation may call the Winston-Salem Police Department at 773-7700.  The emergency number is 911 for Winston-Salem police.

The University Police Department may be reached at 758-5591.  Its emergency numbers are 911 from a campus phone and 758-5911 from a cell phone.
