The following email was sent to students on Saturday afternoon

Dear Students,

In yesterday’s e-mail regarding exam plans if academic operations are canceled, we reported that we do not expect power or internet outages on campus.  We recognize, however, that off-campus students have a higher risk of power/internet loss. If off-campus students lose power/internet before or during an electronic exam, they are not expected (and should not try) to come to campus to complete the exam if academic operations are canceled. They should, rather, communicate with their faculty about the problem as quickly as possible.

In preparation for the expectation of heavy snow on Sunday, the university may cancel academic operations as early as Sunday.  If so, in-person faculty- and/or staff-led academic activities planned for Sunday (e.g., review sessions, tutoring) will not be permitted.  We encourage electronic review sessions (e.g., through webex) during any period of time in which academic operations are canceled.

We understand that preparing for this weather exigency as we approach exams has been challenging. We continue to appreciate your flexibility and patience.  Please keep checking e-mail for any additional updates from your professors and our office.

Charles Iacovou, Dean of the School of Business
