The following message appears on the Residence Life and Housing website on Thursday, August 11:

“Wake Forest is committed to ensuring that our residence halls and all campus buildings are safe and comfortable places for our students to study and live.  As a proactive measure, the University is using canine teams to check every residential space on campus before students arrive for the fall semester.  The canine teams did find evidence of bed bugs in a very small number of rooms (about 2 percent) and the rooms have been treated using a high-heat treatment that is considered by pest-control experts to be 100 percent effective. University officials are confident that residence halls will be free of bedbugs when students arrive on campus.”
