There were three emergency messages that went out this morning:

5:31 am:

The National Weather Service tornado warning has expired. The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch for the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County area.  A tornado watch means tornadoes are possible in and near the watch area.

Please monitor local weather reports for the latest information.

The University recommends keeping cell phones charged and set to receive calls and text messages.

Updates will be posted on the Wake Alert website at wakealert.wfu.edu.

In the event of a tornado warning, Wake Forest will use the Wake Alert emergency notification system to communicate with students, faculty, and staff.  An announcement would be posted on the Wake Alert web site and the University’s home page at wfu.edu; sent by text, email and voice mail; and posted on the Wake Alert Twitter and Facebook accounts.
