Happy Friday to all! It looks like it will be a lovely fall weekend here: highs in the upper 60s and lows around 40-45, and lots of sun. So a great time to be outdoors and enjoy the many green spaces on and around campus.

Just three stories for you today. Here goes:

Launching the search for the next dean of the School of Business

Yesterday, President Rodriguez sent out a message to announce the search for the next dean of the school of business:

“Today, we begin a national search for the next dean of the Wake Forest University School of Business. I am grateful to Interim Dean Montague and the school’s leadership team for their leadership and stewardship of the School during this academic year as we navigate the search and identify a leader who aligns with the culture of Wake Forest, values our liberal arts core and commitment to educating the whole person, and actively champions Pro Humanitate. Learn about the search and ways to engage the process here.”

OPCD webinar for families of current sophomores and juniors (i.e., P’28s and ’29s)

An email went out yesterday to P’28 and P’29  parents from the Office of Personal and Career Development about an upcoming webinar:

OPCD Webinar for the Class of 2028 and 2029 Families
Monday, November 2
6:00-7:00 p.m. ET
Register

If you are a P’28 or P’29 and did not get the message, please check your spam or junk folder and look for the subject line “You’re Invited: OPCD Webinar for Sophomore and Junior Families.” And if your Internet Service Provider did not deliver the message, you can still register here.

Note that there will be a webinar for first year families (P’30s) on Monday 11/11 from 6-7pm ET (I had an incorrect date earlier). I will let you know once those P’30 email invitations have gone out. Thank you for your patience in the interim.

Info sessions for the undergraduate Richter Scholarship (funded summer research projects abroad) – Oct. 28 and Nov. 18

One of the undergrad experiences I did not take advantage of (and have kicked myself for ever after) was the Richter Scholarships. These funds enable students to conduct independent research over the summer at global locations.

There are two upcoming opportunities for students to learn more about the Richter:

“The Undergraduate Richter Scholarship Program allows undergraduate students to conduct their own independently devised, global research projects abroad and we provide upwards of $6,000 for you to complete them. Information sessions for students will be held via Zoom on Wednesday, Oct. 28 and Nov. 18 from 12-1 p.m.; students will have the chance to ask questions about project planning, proposal development, and faculty mentorship.

Students can register for the Oct. 28 or  Nov. 18 session. We hope to see your students there!”

Have a great weekend, Daily Deacdom!
