Congratulations to the Class of 2026!!!!!!
In this Issue: Commencement coverage
Commencement was today, and it was a really emotional one for me, as I got to see some of the students I taught this spring walk across the stage to receive their degrees. AND I got to meet a number of Daily Deac readers face to face. Such great joy on both counts!
We’ll have evolving Commencement coverage over the next few days, but I will share what I can as of today. Here goes.
Commencement
For those of you there today, I know it was a hot one. Maybe 4-5 days ago, it was a high of 73 and breezy, and I wish Mother Nature would have brought those temps to us.
If you missed the Commencement ceremony this morning, you can see the recording here. You can also view the program, and our website has the ability to search for names. One family asked about not having paper programs. My best guess about that there are times when a student gets cleared to graduate late in the game, and rather than not have them listed in a paper program, we put all the names online. Heaven forbid we make a typo, it can also be easily corrected online, whereas on paper it lasts forever.
Baccalaureate
Families that attended the Baccalaureate ceremony Sunday morning in Wait Chapel have just been raving to me about the remarks by Reverend Eugene Cho (I was still working my post so I could not see it live (but am listening to it as I write today’s Daily Deac); you can watch the recording here. There is also a Baccalaureate photostory.
Instagram and Facebook
Our official WFU Instagram account, @wfuniversity, has some great content already, and you will surely see more of it in the coming days. Here are two videos to whet your whistle: highlights from today (video 1), and a similar student video (#2). There are other posts out there – and probably many more to come in the next hours and days, so be sure to follow the account and keep an eye out for students you know.
And if you are on Facebook but not Instagram, you can see content on the official WFU Facebook page.
Again, more to come in the next few days, but know we are so proud of our Class of 2026 and know they will go forth in the spirit of Pro Humanitate and make their mark on our world! And P’26s, you will always be a very special part of the WFU family!!!
