  • Bookstore Apple sale extended

Today is a rare day where I am basically back to back meetings, so I am just sharing a few items (and posting first thing in the morning). Here goes.

Housing selection next week

For currently-enrolled students (i.e., current first-years through seniors), Housing Selection for the 2026–27 academic year takes place next week; students will log into the Housing Portal to select their on-campus housing during their assigned time. Selection times are determined based on housing credits and roommate groups, and the process unfolds over several days. As students consider their options and make decisions about where they will live, this marks an important milestone in preparing for the year ahead.

Families can stay informed and partner with their student by visiting the Housing Selection website, which includes key dates, step-by-step guidance, and frequently asked questions. Communications are also organized by class year, making it easy to understand the specific timeline and experience your student will navigate. Throughout the process, students will continue to receive direct updates from Residence Life and Housing, and support will be available through open office hours and a dedicated Housing Selection Help Desk.

Encourage your student to review available options in advance, talk through preferences with their roommate group, and have a backup plan. Staying engaged with available resources and communications will help them feel prepared and confident as they move through the selection process.

In addition, I want to be sure students are aware of the Housing Selection open office hours tomorrow Friday, April 10 (9 a.m.-3 p.m.) at the RLH Office in Angelou Hall. A Housing Selection Help Desk will be available from 1-8 p.m. daily April 13-16.

DESK (a colorful, whimsical campus volunteer event)

DESK took place yesterday, and it was a beautiful day for it: sunny, mild temps, perfect. DESK (Discovering Education through Student Knowledge) is an annual campus project where Wake students paint desks for local schoolchildren – giving them not only a place to do their homework, but a place that is colorful, fun, and inspiring.

DESK is a multiphase operation. Desks have to get built and prepped for painting (which took place on the weekend through Tuesday, I believe) and then the big, colorful paint day was yesterday.

I am sharing some of my favorite pics at the end of today’s post, but you can also see the full DESK photostory.

Bookstore Apple sale extended

My friends at the Bookstore wanted the Daily Deacdom to know that “the Apple Sale has been extended for Wake Ware Computers Only until April 17th. Our iPads, Apple Laptops, and WakeWare computers will continue to be on sale until this Friday, April 10th. But Wake Ware Models will continue to be on sale until next Friday.”

Wake Forest University students paint desks alongside local school children at Davis Field on Wednesday, April 8, 2026 as part of Discovering Education through Student Knowledge (DESK). The event brings local elementary school children to campus each spring to create inspiring, colorful study spaces for students in their homes. A longstanding campus tradition, DESK was started in 2001 in partnership with Old Town Elementary after two WFU students identified a lack of workspace in the homes of the children they were tutoring.
