The Magnolias

If you are not a Southerner born and bred, you may not be familiar with the beauty that is a magnolia tree when it is in full bloom.  The magnolias on campus are absolutely gorgeous right now.  The trees are filled with very large white blooms, and the stark white against the sort of waxy green of the leaves is a wonderful contrast.

Even though campus is full of construction right now, if you are among the magnolias, it feels like a haven.  They look especially nice right not on the lower part of the main road onto campus (Silas Creek entrance) after you go down the hill from the Byrum Welcome Center.  I have not been on the Manchester Quad (formerly known as Mag Quad) lately, but I would guess they look as good there as well.
