Today is FDOC (First Day of Classes) for Summer School. For our Deacs who are here for Summer Session 1, we wish them all the best with their classes.

We got terrific news that three recent graduates have been named Fulbright Scholars:

“The Fulbright US Student Program is the U.S. government’s flagship international educational exchange program, offering research study and teaching opportunities in over 160 countries. The Fulbright award is designed to facilitate cultural exchange and increase mutual understanding between the people of the United States and those of other countries.

This year’s winners from Wake Forest’s Class of 2022 are:

  • Sam Apostolopoulos, who will travel to Chile to conduct LGBTQ-focused human rights research on Chile’s constitutional convention
  • Elinor Grage, who will travel to the Czech Republic as an English Teaching Assistant
  • Lauren Robertson, who will travel to Spain as an English Teaching Assistant
  • Additionally: Bridget Idzik has been named an alternate to the Spain English Teaching Assistant program.”

With the excitement of Commencement last week, I neglected to share the most recent WFU in the News.

For our P’26 families, our Weekly Update went out this afternoon. You can view the archive of weekly updates here.

Some of my colleagues have made a short video with aerial views of Commencement. If you hadn’t seen it on social media already, you can check it out here.
