Happy Tuesday, Deac families! It’s the last week of classes for undergraduates; LDOC (the Last Day of Classes) is this Friday, which seems impossible to believe.

Congratulations to our Men’s Golf team, who just won the ACC Championship. This is the first ACC title for the men’s golf program since 1989. It is also just the fourth time in Atlantic Coast Conference history that the women’s and men’s Championship was won by the same school. Go Deacs!

As we are nearing the end of the semester, students may be contemplating various ways for to spend their summer. We hope they might consider SportsBIZ, now in its 3rd year.

The SportsBIZ team gave us their Top 5 Reasons To Enroll in SportsBIZ

1. Speakers – Sports-industry leaders share insights from their career journeys! Listen to what alumnus Corey Pegram (’13) has to say about his experience as a speaker last summer.

2. Networking Opportunities – Speakers, Faculty and Students!

3. Real-world Experience – Solve a real sports-business problem which provides differentiation in interviews and on resumes!

And speaking of the end of the year, our ’22 seniors are about to embark on What’s Next After Wake Forest – and our Alumni Personal and Career Development team has a terrific new resource for them:

Year One: An Online Course for New Wake Forest Graduates – Navigating the first year of work and life after college can be challenging! That’s why the WFU Alumni Personal & Career Development Center put together a short, self-paced online course to support our newest graduates. Based on the content from the book Year One: How Young Professionals (And Their Managers) Can Thrive in Their First Job After College, this course offers tools and resources to help new grads navigate work, life, relationships (at work), own their personal development, and figure out what comes next. Urge your seniors and young alumni to sign up!

For our P’25s, your Deacs got their weekly issue of Letters So Dear yesterday. Read the archive here.

Since time is quickly running out on this semester, there’s not much time left to procrastinate. But I found a couple of funnies about procrastination, and am sharing them in the vein of “laughter is the best medicine” 🙂 Click to enlarge. the 4 horsemen of procrastination: minor chores, snacks, social media, nappingprocrastination joke
