I am back after the Winter Break, Daily Deacdom. Hope you and yours had a very happy New Year! After a trip home to chilly suburban Philly for Christmas, I returned to NC to low- to mid-70s weather (no lie). Then the temps dropped maybe 30 degrees, and yesterday we got several inches of heavy, wet, snowball/snowman perfect snow. I bet we got 4-5″ at my house, but it did not last long because the ground had been so warm. One of our local news stations summed our weather up beautifully as follows:

Mother Nature: you can't fit all 4 seasons into a week. NC: hold my biscuit

To other news, we sent a message yesterday to the campus community about a wildlife issue with racoons near campus, some of which have tested positive for rabies. File that under ’emails I never thought I would receive’ 🙂

Residence Life and Housing sent emails to resident students about the return to campus; you can see an example here.

Our guidelines for Spring 2022 re: quarantine and isolation are available online.

Finally, we are busily working through our students’ COVID booster uploads, which are due by the 7th. We have started making calls to students who are not compliant to make sure they have a plan to be compliant by deadline. Please urge your Deacs to check their WFU email and answer their phones. We want to get everyone across the finish line on time.
