More beautiful, sunny, warm weather today, which gives us ample reason to feel grateful. Speaking of gratitude, our Center for the Advancement of Teaching (CAT) has been hard at work on ways to recognize the extraordinary efforts of faculty and staff over the past year. They are unveiling this new initiative:
The Thank a Teacher program gives students an opportunity to thank faculty and staff who have made a difference in their education. The students fill out a short form online, then the CAT compiles the responses and forwards them along to recipients at the end of the semester.
One of the most meaningful parts of a Wake Forest education is the close relationships that students develop with faculty and staff. If your Deac has talked to you about a faculty member or staff member who has been especially important to them as a mentor, thinking partner, or friend during their time at Wake, please encourage them to send a Thank You using the form above.
One news item for today: students who have applied to study abroad in the fall received an update yesterday with information about plans for the fall. If your Deac falls in that category, please be sure to read the full message.
There is just over one week left for regular classes, and I’d be willing to bet that a lot of our Deacs have papers due within the next week. Normally I wait until finals to start my “Laughter is the best medicine” posts with finals memes, but I saw these about paper writing and couldn’t resist getting an early start 🙂
And for those who want to catch a glimpse of campus beyond view you get from the Quad Cam, here’s a few pics from campus that I hope you’ll enjoy.
