Happy Humpday, Deac families! Wanted to share some of the photos that have been taken on campus and at Wake Downtown recently. I especially like the masked statue of Bowman Gray and the picture of the dark sky surrounding Wait Chapel that was from the big storm we had yesterday.
Also have some pictures from our friends at WakerSpace. They have been sharing the Take&Make Challenges with students in quarantine and isolation. We thank WakerSpace for some quarantine diversions and hope our students who in quarantine or isolation will enjoy making their own rock cactus!
A reminder to students that they can sign up for flu shots at our on-campus flu clinic taking place next Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Students can also get their required vaccination at the Student Health Service, who will offer the flu shot in their offices throughout the semester (by appointment), or at local pharmacy or doctor’s office; read more.
Finally, there was a very sad story yesterday from Appalachian State University about the passing of one of their students, a 19 year old from Thomasville, NC. He had been diagnosed with COVID-19 earlier this month and suffered from later complications. I hope you will join me in offering your prayers to his family and friends and the Appalachian State community. This is a somber reminder of the seriousness of COVID.
