Here are a few things coming up that might interest our students – and some bonus photostory content at the end. Have a great weekend, y’all!

National Voter Registration Day – Sept. 15

National Voter Registration Day is coming up on September 15. There will be an event from 12–6 p.m. in Tribble Courtyard (Rain location: Benson Rotunda) for interested students:

“Stop by Deacs Decide’s National Voter Registration Day event to register to vote, update your information, or learn more about the voting process. Bring a friend, ask questions, and make sure you’re election-ready. Your voice matters. Let’s make it count.“

Things to do this weekend

I took a look at The Link, our student organization platform, to see what is happening this weekend that students can tap in to. Here are just a few options:

  • Rosh Hashana Brisket Dinner (Friday 6:30-7:30 p.m.): Join Chabad for an epic brisket Rosh Hashana Brisket Dinner and Services! Celebrate Rosh Hashana in style.
  • APO Info Session (Friday 7-8 p.m.): Pop in to our Alpha Phi Omega coed service fraternity info session to learn more about the organization itself, as well our members here on campus and the ways that we extend our service to the community! Attendance at one of the three info sessions is required to be able to rush.
  • Humans vs. Zombies in ZSR Library (Friday 7-9 p.m.): Join us for another zombie apocalypse at ZSR Library! Humans vs Zombies, an action-packed role playing game of tag, has been a library tradition since 2010. For more information on this event and to see the official “rules”, check out our website.
  • Toy Story 5 film screening on Manchester Plaza (Friday 7-10 p.m.): Ready to kickstart a new semester off with food and entertainment? Well, come and enjoy the film screening of Toy Story 5 on Manchester Plaza and make sure to grab some friends while you’re at it! Activities such as stuff-a- plush will promptly start at 7:00 pm, so make sure to come early while supplies last. Come, stay for the adventure, and experience your favorite toys come to life! 
  • Fall Day of Service (Saturday 8 a.m.-noon): Join the Office of Civic and Community Engagement in the Fall Day of Service! Save the date for September 12th – breakfast 8-8:30am and volunteering from 9am-12pm. Head to wfu.givepulse.com for shift sign-ups and additional details! 
  • Women’s Soccer vs. Virginia (Saturday 7-9 p.m.): Women’s Soccer against Virginia on Saturday, September 12th at 7:00 P.M. at Spry Stadium

Senya Li (’27): What happens before a play ever reaches the stage? This past summer, through a Wake Forest Arts and Humanities Research Fellowship, Senya Li (’28) worked alongside mentor Dr. Cindy Gendrich, professor of Theatre, to explore the stories behind The Secret in the Wings by Mary Zimmerman.
