How to do your own online health research like a scientist

A colleague of mine shared this with me and I thought some might be interested in it. It references work by Wake Forest’s Dr. Lucy McGowan, who (in my opinion) has a particular talent for taking complex statistical and research processes and making them more understandable to those of us not experts in those fields:

“The instinct to ‘do your own research’ when it comes to your health is a good one. The challenge often is not lack of information, but the opposite. People are surrounded by studies, headlines, forums, family and friends, often all speaking at once in different directions and with different levels of reliability. How do you move through this abundance of information without getting lost in it? Wake Forest Associate Professor of Statistical Sciences Lucy McGowan tells us how in this article in The Conversation.”

Graylyn is an absolutely lovely place, whether for an individual trip to Winston-Salem, a corporate retreat or meeting, or a special event: for those reading who have older children of marrying age, Graylyn was also recently named in the Top 25 Historic Hotels of America For Romantic Proposals. Just sayin 😉
