New Students and Families website is live!
In this Issue: information for new parents and families (i.e., P’30s, or parents/families of the incoming Class of 2030)
May 1 is always a big day at Wake because that is the day we launch newstudents.wfu.edu, our New Students and Families website. This is the website that all new first-year students, transfer students, and their families will use from now until Move-In in August to know what they need to do (and when).
If you are a new student, please make a habit of reviewing the First-Year Student checklist or Transfer Student checklist regularly, as you will be expected to complete all tasks by their deadline. New parents and families, you have your own checklist to follow.
Typically every Monday starting today, new students will receive an email from the Office of Orientation, New Student and Transition Programs. Then every Tuesday, P’30 families will get an email from me. Those messages will be archived on this page, and it is important to do a careful read of those messages to ensure you don’t miss anything important.
Pro tip: we encourage families to read just their messages, and students to read just their messages. It will be important for students to begin self-managing on their due dates and deadlines.
We invite new students and families to dig into the website and begin getting a sense of summer tasks, support offices, and all the things our new students will discover this fall.
And I do want to give a heads up to families with older students currently/previously enrolled: some of our processes change from year to year, so it is not safe to rely on ‘it was this way when my elder child moved in‘ or what another older family may tell you – always go to the source: our website or direct messages to new families, just to ensure you have the right info.
Welcome to all the new students and families! We can’t wait to meet you all in person!
