In this Issue:

  • Leadership and Character course offerings
  • Free student tickets and transportation to April 1 baseball game in Charlotte
  • Deacs Day of Giving is tomorrow (Thursday 3/19)

It is still unseasonably (and in my mind, unreasonably) cold today: there is thankfully plenty of sun, but it will only get to be around 45 degrees today. Tomorrow will be much more spring-like, and then Sunday is now projected to be 89 degrees.

Here’s what I have for you today, Daily Deacdom…

Leadership and Character course offerings

My sense is that a lot of our families are keenly interested in our Program for Leadership and Character, and are eager for their students to plug into offerings by the program. As luck would have it, I just got a message about some of the courses available in Fall 2026 (and even some this summer) that have a Leadership and Character aspect to them. See the classes here.

What I find particularly exciting in this list is the range of disciplines represented: Entrepreneurship, Computer Science, Humanities, African American Studies, First Year Seminars. Lots of different pathways for students of diverse academic interests to find a way to plug in to these courses.

Free student tickets and transportation to April 1 baseball game in Charlotte

I hope that our students are all aware of the Screamin Demons Rewards (SDR) app, which is how they can get tickets to athletic events. I saw this notice yesterday for our upcoming baseball game in Charlotte on April 1st:

“Student tickets and transportation to Wake Forest’s April 1 showdown against Clemson Tigers at Truist Field are available now — and this is your chance to see the Deacs battle an ACC rival in Downtown Charlotte for FREE.

There are a limited spots available, so secure your seat now before they are gone. Let’s pack the park and show out for the Deacs on the road!”

Students can sign up for the free ticket and transportation to Charlotte here. and they can see the SDR app for more info.

Deacs Day of Giving is tomorrow (Thursday 3/19)

Tomorrow is Deacs Day of Giving, and I hope you will consider making a gift – of any size and to any area of Wake Forest.

Giving is already open. If you wish, you can give today or tomorrow during the day; give through this link (which, full disclosure, is my referral page). BUT there is something exciting coming tomorrow evening: the “Mom & Pop Challenge”:

  • Mom & Pop Challenge: Everyone knows that parents are Deacs, too. So, it’s only fitting that the first parent gift after 7 p.m. wins the Mom & Pop Challenge.

If you are gunning to win the Mom & Pop Challenge, please give using this special link and try to time it so you can be the first gift after 7 p.m. tomorrow (Thursday 3/19).

I’d love to see a strong showing from the Daily Deacdom (again, the important metric is the number of families that participate, not the size of individual gifts), so thank you for your consideration.

We’re officially past midweek (by the time this hits your Inbox). May you coast gently towards a happy weekend!
