What a beautiful day it is in Winston-Salem! It is sunny, there is a nice breeze, flowers are blooming everywhere, and it is only maybe 74 degrees. It is picture perfect weather. P’26s, send out your prayers and supplications that we have this weather on Commencement day!
I am playing catch up from being out of the office, so have just two short items for you today. Read on!
Welcome, Class of 2030!!
This past Friday night, at precisely 6:34 p.m. (or 18:34 in military time), admissions decisions were released for the Class of 2030. The 18:34 was deliberate, as Wake was formed in 1834.
If you want to feel happy for a minute, check out this video about students getting their decisions. Welcome to all of our very excited new members of the Class of 2030, as well as their P’30 parents and family members.
OPCD webinar for P’26s
There is an event this Thursday for P ’26s whose soon-to-be graduates have not yet secured employment for after graduation. This webinar will take place from 5-6pm EST and will be recorded. Topics covered will include: resources available to your student, the current job market, and common student challenges and how to address them; speakers from the OPCD will be Andy Chan, Vice President; Dr. Heidi Robinson, Associate Vice President and Associate Professor of the Practice; and student panelists.
Interested P’26s can register here.
There will be additional OPCD webinars for other P’ years in the coming weeks. I will share that information as soon as I have it.
Announcement about fraternity forming
The Office of Fraternity and Sorority Engagement asked me to share the following with the Daily Deacdom:
“We’re back, and we’re building! The Gamma Beta Chapter of Alpha Epsilon Pi is now recruiting for Spring 2026. Looking for leaders, scholars, and men ready to be part of something bigger than themselves.”
Interested students should fill out this form.
