Walk with Wente: Mark Curtis of Economics

President Wente walks and talks with Mark Curtis, Reynolds Professor of Economics and Chair of the Economics Department, about the challenges of designing policies that both address environmental outcomes and promote economic growth.

He shares how his experience working with a non-profit providing microcredit in Peru shaped his career and why he is so passionate about engaging students in current issues. Curtis said, “The biggest impact we have is on the students we are teaching and motivating [them] to go on and make a difference in the world.”

Laundry machine replacement notice

Residence Life and Housing shared this notification with resident students: “Over winter break, all community laundry machines will be replaced with new units. This work will not include the in-unit machines at Deacon Place. To help us prepare, remove any personal items from your laundry room before you leave for break.

Any belongings left in laundry rooms after 12:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 14, will be removed and discarded. Because of the pace of replacements, items will not be able to be recovered after this deadline.

Thank you for taking a moment to check your community’s space before heading out for the semester.”
