  • Wake Alert weather advisory for this morning
  • Important parking updates
  • Artisans’ Fair rescheduled for this Friday
  • Final Weekly Message for P’29s

Today is cold – a projected high of only 36 – but no rain, sleet or snow in the forecast and the rest of the week will be in the mid-40s to mid-50s, so hopefully no more weather drama until after our Deacs leave for break.

Wake Alert weather advisory for this morning

Around 9 p.m. last night, we received a Wake Alert advisory about this morning’s campus operations: “Wake Forest’s Reynolda Campus, including Wake Downtown and other University sites located in Winston-Salem, will open at 10 a.m. tomorrow, Tuesday, Dec. 9.” Read the full message here.

What I am sure was on students’ minds was the impact on exams. Here’s what the message said: “College and undergraduate business exams scheduled for 9 a.m. will now begin at 10 a.m. in their scheduled rooms. Exams scheduled for 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. will proceed as scheduled.”

Important parking updates

Our Transportation and Parking Services has an announcement up about Winter Break and exam week. Here are select highlights, but your Deacs will want to read the full message if they have a car to be sure they are aware of all important info.

They also had a separate announcement about Spring 2026 vehicle registration, parking, and early return procedures; this is applicable to students returning from study abroad in the fall, those bringing cars following Winter Break, and early arrivals for the Spring semester.

Artisans’ Fair rescheduled for this Friday

If your Deacs will still be on campus this Friday and they need to do a little holiday shopping (or get themselves a treat to help during finals), our Artisans’ Fair will be held this Friday, Dec. 12 from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. in the Sutton Center lower gym.

This is an annual event where Wake Forest faculty and staff sell their own handmade items: things like Jewelry, woodworking, stitchery, pottery, visual arts, etc. It is always impressive to see the creative side of Wake Foresters that you might not have known existed. They take cash or check.

Final Weekly Message for P’29s

As we are at the end of the semester, we have come to our final weekly message for P’29s. This week is about reflection during Winter Break.

That’s all I have for you on this Tuesday of finals week. You got this, Deacs! Finish strong!
