Like our students, I am back after Fall Break. If your Deacs came home to you, I hope you had as good a time with them as I did with my ’27 (whose school was on break at the same time as Wake). If your Deac stayed in town, they were blessed with picture perfect fall weather.

And now we are back to the second half of the fall semester: time for our Deacs to lock in and give their all to their classes once more. As I am digging out from my Inbox following some PTO, we’ll dive right in today.

Message about Presidential Search

This morning, the campus community (as well as alumni, parents, and families) received a message about the search for Wake Forest’s 15th president. Here is an excerpt:

“The Board of Trustees has formed a presidential search committee and engaged an executive search firm to lead the process of identifying and securing Wake Forest’s 15th president. This committee – composed of Trustees, faculty, staff, alumni, parents, and a student – will listen to the perspectives and aspirations of Wake Foresters as we envision the University’s next chapter. The committee will gather insight, conduct interviews and recommend the profile of the best leader for Wake Forest at this important moment….

The Board of Trustees remains committed to an open and engaging search process. Throughout the fall, we will invite the Wake Forest community to share its perspectives on what the University needs in its next president. We welcome your ideas about Wake Forest’s opportunities as we prepare to embrace new leadership. You can follow updates and offer your insights through the newly launched presidential search website.”

You can read the full message here.

OPCD webinar for P’27s and P’28s (i.e., sophomore and junior families)

The Offices of Family Engagement & Personal and Career Development (OPCD) sent an invitation to webinar for P’27s and P’28s. If you are a P’27 or P’28 and did not see the email, please check your spam/junk/quarantine folder in case it was routed there in error. But I am also sharing the details below:

Recording of recent OPCD webinar for P’26s (i.e., families of seniors)

Last week, the Office of Personal and Career Development held a webinar for families of seniors/P’26s entitled “Supporting Your Senior: College-to-Career Made Clear.” If you were not able to attend that webinar in real time, you can view the recording here, and see the resources shared during the presentation.

World Cultural Festival tomorrow (Oct. 16)

World Cultural Festival is the annual day of culture and community hosted by the Intercultural Center. This day aims to highlight many cultural groups that make up Wake Forest. At this event, there will be a variety of food from businesses in Winston Salem, performances representing many cultures around the world, music, giveaways, and an overall amazing experience.

Please encourage your Deacs to take advantage of the World Cultural Festival tomorrow (Thursday, Oct. 16) from 4:30-7 p.m. on Davis Field.
