Academic Resources Awareness Week (Oct. 6-10)
In this Issue: Academic Resources Awareness Week (Oct. 6-10)
I am out of the office today, so this is a pre-post
CLASS, the Center for Learning, Access, and Student Success, asked me to share the following with the Daily Deac-dom about upcoming events for ARAW (Academic Resources Awareness Week):
Academic Resources Awareness Week (ARAW) is an annual event every fall semester. The goal of ARAW, a signature CLASS event, is to make students aware of all the free on-campus academic resources available to them and normalize their use. From peer tutoring and help centers to academic coaching, ZSR research sessions, and more, Wake Forest offers a multitude of academic resources to help students along their learning journey. Students are encouraged to check out some or all of the great events planned every year.
Monday 10/6 – ZSR Library
Tuesday 10/7 – Information Systems – Do’s and Donuts
Wednesday 10/8 – Academic Coaching & CLASS Cafe
Thursday – 10/9 Peer Tutoring & Carnival
*for every event students attend, they will be entered to win our Ultimate Study Experience during finals: a private study space during reading days for them and a few friends, snacks included*
You can see flyers below. These are terrific, free resources for our students – and if they attend them and happen to be the winner of the Ultimate Study Day experience, that is worth its weight in gold!
AND – I am told that Class Cafe will once again feature live owls at the event, since the owl is their mascot. The owls were there I think last fall too and were a big hit.
Rebound from Setbacks: Academic Resources and Resilience Carnival
Thursday, October 9, noon-3pm, Manchester Plaza
Come enjoy fun games, eat carnival-inspired food, and meet tutors from all over campus. The CLASS peer tutoring program, BIO Center, Writing Center, Math & Stats Center, Chemistry Center, and the Computer Science Center will all be on hand to share more about their resources.
