Breaking news: date change for Hit the Bricks due to weather

The Hit the Bricks Instagram account announced this morning that “With anticipated weather, Hit the Bricks has been moved to Wednesday, October 1st 2025. Stay tuned for more communication.”

Hit the Bricks 2025 has been moved to Weds. Oct. 1 due to potential for lightning on the original date of Sept. 25.

Emergency Alert System Test to be held tomorrow (Sept. 23)

The campus community received notice that emergency alert systems will be tested on Tuesday, Sept. 23 between 9 a.m. and 12 noon. These tests are required to ensure that the University’s emergency notifications are operating properly.

Spirituality and the Character of Our Lives retreat

The Program for Leadership and Character wanted to make the Daily Deacdom aware of the following retreat in case this would be of interest to your Deacs:

“How do you stay spiritually grounded during college? What practices can help you connect with yourself,  others, or something greater? Join the Program for Leadership and Character and the Office of the Chaplain on Saturday, October 4 starting at 10 a.m. and concluding by 7 p.m. for a one-day retreat at the nearby North Carolina Museum of Art – Winston-Salem to explore and experience spiritual practices that nurture peace, gratitude, and resilience. All students are welcome—whether rooted in a tradition, spiritual but not religious, or simply curious. Sign up by Wednesday, October 1 here.“

Away tailgates for VA Tech and UVA football games

My colleagues in Athletics have asked me to share information about tailgates at the WFU vs Virginia Tech (10/4/25) and WFU vs UVA (11/8/25) football games this season. Here are the details:

WFU-Virginia Tech tailgate (October 4)

Come cheer on the Demon Deacons in Blacksburg, Virginia at the Wake Forest Tailgate! The tailgate will open 2 hours prior to kickoff and close 30 minutes prior to kickoff. Game time is to be announced.

Please note this offer does not include a game ticket. Football tickets can be ordered through the Virginia Tech ticket office.

WFU-UVA tailgate (November 8)

Come cheer on the Demon Deacons in Charlottesville, Virginia at the Wake Forest Tailgate! The tailgate will open 2 hours prior to kickoff and close 30 minutes prior to kickoff. Game time is to be announced.

Please note this offer does not include a game ticket. Football tickets can be ordered through the Wake Forest ticket office.
