Weekly messages for new students and families

Assuming everything goes to plan while I am gone, we will have sent a weekly message to new students, which you can read here, and a weekly update for new families, which you can read here. Note that it may be later in the day before the new messages have hit these sites.

Important reminder for ALL families of ALL years to complete the Student Health Insurance enrollment/waiver process – starting July 1

One of the very important tasks each year is for families to take care of the Student Health Insurance requirement. This will open on July 1st according to the New Students website, so mark your calendars.

EVERY year (not just when your student first starts at Wake), you must either enroll in our Student Health Insurance program, or waive coverage:

“Wake Forest requires health insurance for all full-time enrolled students. Students must elect to either enroll in the insurance program or request to waive enrollment if they carry comparable personal health insurance meeting the criteria set by WFU (detailed below).

The enrollment or waiver election may be made starting July 1 until September 15.

While the Student Health Insurance requirement is not due until September, I always like to tell families to begin the process early. If you get busy later in the summer and don’t take action to either enroll or waive by the deadline, you will be charged for the student program (even if you have coverage). So it is to your advantage to take care of this as soon as you can.

Again, this is not just a process for incoming P’29 families. This is something EVERY family must do, EVERY year their Deac is enrolled.

I will share the link once it is live on July 1, but set a reminder in your calendar now that this is a yearly event.
