$30 million gift to advance entrepreneurship education
There is very exciting news to share today:
“Wake Forest has received a transformational $30 million gift to expand the University’s Center for Entrepreneurship and enhance access and opportunities for undergraduate students in the academic program. The anonymous gift is one of the most significant in the University’s history. The investment will enable Wake Forest to increase the number of experienced entrepreneurship faculty, develop innovative new courses, and fund the construction of state-of-the-art space for the growing program.”
You can read the full story of this gift here. Many thanks to the anonymous donor whose generosity will be game-changing for our entrepreneurship program!
Finance career resources available to all Wake Forest students
I was in a meeting last week about some exciting developments in the ways we support students who are interested in careers in finance or financial services.
The recruiting timeline for finance careers begins earlier and earlier in the student experience, even before students declare their major. These new resources help students of all class years identify and confirm an interest in finance careers. The use of these resources equips and prepares them for the internship and job search process.
The following web resources are here today for all Wake Forest students, no matter their class year or major, and I highly recommend students interested in Finance check them out:
- The Explore Finance Career Path website helps students get started with some of the basics of careers in finance.
- The Market Readiness Finance website drills a level deeper, including helping students understand the recruiting timeline for Finance internships and careers, see the kinds of interview questions and business cases they may encounter, and videos on important market readiness skills – everything from roles, interviewing, and networking to industry provided content.
In addition, there will be a new self-paced course available sometime in early spring to help prepare students for the internship and job search process for Finance careers. We will let you know when the course comes online.
