In this Issue:

  • RA (Resident Adviser) applications open
  • Panhellenic (i.e., sorority) recruitment registration
  • Cybersecurity weekly email

We had our first test of the Wake Alert system this morning, and even though I had seen yesterday that it was coming, I forgot about it and was startled when the test alerts came out. Perhaps some of your Deacs were in the same boat.

Just a couple of quick hits today. Here goes.

RA (Resident Adviser) applications open

The Office of Residence Life and Housing sent a message to resident students to announce that Resident Adviser (RA) applications for the 2025-2026 academic year are now open.

There are many good reasons for students to consider being an RA. Probably the one that comes to mind first for them is that RAs receive a ten-month $5,700 stipend and a single room at a discounted rate. But beyond that, being an RA helps students build marketable skills that might help them land a job or internship; RAs “build leadership qualities that are highly marketable to employers. Management and delegation skills, critical thinking, problem-solving, and the ability to work effectively with a team are just some of the transferable skills you’ll gain for both your academic and professional career.”

If this sounds like something your Deac would be interested in, they can learn more and apply at the RA website.

Panhellenic (i.e., sorority) recruitment registration

My colleagues in the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life asked me to share this message with families who have daughters interested in sorority recruitment:
