This important message is being shared on behalf of Information Security about a Phishing Scheme:

“Part of your student’s journey in college is learning to be secure online as well as in the world. Unfortunately, several accounts fell prey to a phishing scam over the weekend. The scam threatened recipients with account deletion and then directed them to urgent, fake “verification” instructions. 

While phishing scams can be complex and convincing, there are ways to safeguard against them. To find out more about Cybersecurity and ways to support your student in the protection of their data, visit the Information Security webpage. Remember, If your student receives a suspicious email, please ask them to report it by emailing infosec@wfu.edu.”
