Tuesday Newsday
In this Issue:
- P’28 Weekly message and clarification about AP/IB scores deadline
- Virtual New Student Reception and Workday questions (and my naughty puppy)
- Administrative offices closed June 19 in honor of Juneteenth
It’s been a steamy week in Winston-Salem, Deac families. It’s been in the high 80s to mid 90s and plenty humid. It’s supposed to be a scorching week for a lot of the US, so stay cool wherever you are 🙂
P’28 Weekly message and clarification about AP/IB scores deadline
Because it’s Tuesday, we sent out our Weekly Update for New Families. Today’s message is about meal plans and dining.
A couple of you wrote in to me about the student deadline of “Submit AP and/or IB scores by June 20” that was referenced in today’s message. That was not worded as well as it should have been. What that really means is that by June 20, students should log in to the appropriate AP/IB platform and designate that their scores be sent to WFU. We know the scores aren’t published until the first week July. Apologies for any confusion!
Virtual New Student Reception and Workday questions (and my naughty puppy)
For those who attended the Virtual New Student Reception last night, we are still processing the video recording of the session. Please check back at this website later this week to view the recording.
Many of the Q&A questions we received during our Virtual New Student Reception had to do with individual functions in Workday, which students will use to register. In addition to the registration step by step instructions page, we have an extensive website with Workday support for students. Students with questions should start with these pages to find the answers they need.
My apologies to our viewers for having to watch me move locations mid-webinar. We have a 5 month old Bernese Mountain Dog puppy, Manfred. For those who have Berners, you know they are called ‘velcro dogs’ who don’t want to leave their owners’ sides. Manfred started the event crated and yowled so much I had to let him out…which led to him harassing one of my older dogs and getting them both barking.
Because some of you asked for pictures in the Q&A, here is our Manfred 🙂
Administrative offices closed June 19 in honor of Juneteenth
Administrative offices will be closed tomorrow in honor of Juneteenth. As such, the Daily Deac will not be published tomorrow.
For those who are looking to deepen their understanding of Juneteenth, Dean of the School of Divinity, Professor of the Humanities, and Director of the Program in African American Studies Corey D. B. Walker shares six books that can help people better understand the history and meaning of the observance.Â
We’ll be back on Thursday!
