The space between finals starting and Commencement day is filled with an enormous amount of meetings and other prep work, so most of the blogs this week will be short(ish).

Commencement info – coming soon

I was in a lengthy meeting yesterday about the operational aspects of Commencement weekend. I have written up my notes and am checking their accuracy with the Commencement team before posting them here. Hopefully I will get them up within the next day or two. Thanks for your patience.

P’24s – hope your family will attend the Celebration of the Class of 2024

If your Deacs are following the wfucampuslife Instagram account (which I hope they are!) they would have seen this post yesterday:

“Exactly two weeks from today, you’ll walk across Hearn Plaza to celebrate the day you’ve been waiting for. We could not let you walk the stage without a proper celebration. If you haven’t already, be sure to RSVP for the Celebration of the Class of 2024! This year, join us on Saturday, May 18th, on Manchester Plaza with your family and friends for a night of music, dancing, food, fun, and forever memories as we kick off Commencement weekend! Can’t wait to see you there!”

Remarks and a toast to the Class of 2024 are scheduled to begin at 9 p.m. And we definitely want to include parents and families in this celebration, so we hope you will make this a part of your Commencement weekend’s plans.

Check with your Deac to see if they registered to attend, and if not, you can register for your family.

Final reminders before move-out

Yesterday, the Office of Residence Life and Housing sent this message to resident students reminding them of important information for move-out.

Letters So Dear for ’27s

Also yesterday, our ’27s got their weekly installment of Letters So Dear. You can read it here.

Weekly Message for New Families (P’28s)

Every Tuesday this summer will be our Weekly Message for New Families. You can read this week’s issue here.

If you are a P’28 and don’t see it in your inbox, please check spam/junk/quarantine folder for any @wfu.edu emails, because from time to time people’s Internet Service Providers interpret our emails as spam. It may help to add parents@wfu.edu, alumni@wfu.edu, and returns@wfu.edu as contacts (those are some of the accounts we typically send mail from).

Unfortunately, when we press ‘send’ on an email, there is no way to guarantee how that email will be received and interpreted by individual firewalls or spam filters. Therefore, we will always link those messages here in the Daily Deac and also on the New Students site here.
