It’s in the low 60s and sunny, and it’s almost the weekend. Those are ideal conditions for a good mood today 🙂 Today is a jam packed day on my calendar so this will be shorter than usual.

Wake EMS saves a life

For many years, we have had a wonderful student Emergency Medical Services (EMS) team. A letter from the Department of Emergency Medicine at the Wake Forest School of Medicine was shared with me, and I thought all families might want to share our pride in our EMS team:

The Wake Forest Emergency Medical Services (WFEMS) team saved a life on Jan. 25. While returning from another call, they witnessed a vehicle accident off campus. One person was ejected from the vehicle. The WFEMS team immediately identified a life-threatening arterial hemorrhage and rendered aid. Without their quick intervention, the patient would have almost certainly died. Our community has long benefited from having this student-run, volunteer EMS organization, and specific thanks go to the Jan. 25 responders: Aidan Smith, Nate Bozeman, Hank Laxton, Anna Munro, Anna Topmiller, and Zeph Hollenback.

If your student is interested in the EMS team, they can learn more here.

Dean’s List Fall 2023

Some of our families have asked me about the Dean’s List. You can see the basic info about the Dean’s List here, and view the Fall 2023 Dean’s List here (it is searchable so you can look for your Deac).
