It’s a new week, Deac families, and a warm day at that. After several days of really stunning mid-70s temps, we are back up to the low 80s today. Mercifully, the forecast for Hit the Bricks on Thursday looks spectacular: high of 77 and partly cloudy. That’s great weather for HTB.

I was out half of Friday for NC State’s Family Weekend (we had fun!), and today is both meeting-heavy for me and also news-heavy, so let’s get right to it.

Community Safety Advisory yesterday

A Community Safety Advisory went out late yesterday afternoon about an indecent exposure off campus in Reynolda Village. As a reminder, we no longer email families with these sorts of advisories. You must opt in to safety alerts via the Wake Safe app (instructions available here).

WFU 2023 Annual Crime and Fire Safety Report is now available

In other safety news, the WFU 2023 Annual Crime and Fire Safety Report is now available on the University Police website. You can read more about what the report contains in this explanation.

Tests of Wake Forest Emergency Alert Systems will be conducted on Oct. 17 and 19

Tests of Wake Forest Emergency Alert Systems will be conducted on Oct. 17 and 19. System tests will occur on both days between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. The tests are being conducted to ensure that the University’s emergency notification systems operate correctly. Read more.

P’27s: Letters So Dear and Weekly Message for First-Year Families

Last but not least, since it is a new week, your ’27s got their weekly edition of Letters So Dear, and we have published a new Weekly Message for First-Year Families. This week’s topic is – just in time for midterms! – Grade Expectations.
