Football tickets for Family Weekend go on sale at 10 a.m. May 16
Today I bring you the news that football tickets for Family Weekend will go on sale via the Athletics website at 10 a.m. on May 16th. This is the second year in a row where football tickets will be ordered directly from Athletics, and not via the Family Weekend website.
As a reminder, Family Weekend is September 22-24 and our football game is against Georgia Tech. We won’t know kickoff time until 10 days before the game due to television scheduling.
This is a question we get every year: Do I need a ticket for my student? Students can get a free ticket to sit in the students’ football section with the Screamin’ Demon Rewards App (ticket claims open at noon the Monday before the game: Sept. 18 at noon ET). If your student wants to sit with you, you will need to purchase a ticket for your student. Standard tickets start at $75 and there are a variety of purchase options available. See full details.
Event tickets for Family Weekend programming will go on sale July 11
While football ticket sales are happening soon, registration for the other events of Family Weekend (meals, lectures, programs, etc.) will begin on July 11th – so mark your calendars now! As you make your travel plans, we’d like to provide you with a high-level overview of the weekend for you to consider.
We will host our annual Deacon Family Festivities that afternoon, followed by the Friday night meal (tickets sold separately), and the night of entertainment. Saturday the 23rd will host a variety of pre-game activities which include access to the student tailgate area before the game. On Sunday the 24th, we conclude the weekend with a farewell brunch (tickets sold separately).
Other activities and experiences such as tours, lectures, presentations and the like are currently being planned. We look forward to having you with us in September and look forward to seeing you there.
Commencement chairs are being set/time lapse of yesterday’s work
I took a peek at the Quad Cam this morning and can see that the Commencement chairs have started to be laid out in pristine, even rows on the Quad. You can watch a timelapse of yesterday’s work here; it’s a video of a full day from sunup to sundown and all the work inbetween. Most of the work was directly in front of Wait Chapel, the erecting of the stage. Today is Chair Day so hopefully I can get a video of that too.
Here’s a screengrab from midday today (click to enlarge), but you can check out the Quad Cam any time to see live progress.
And for all our P’23s, you need to plan your photo op during Commencement weekend with this little gem:
Keep thinking good thoughts about the weather for the weekend and Monday, Daily Deacdom!
