The Diamond Deacs are #1

I was very excited to get today’s From the Quad from our Director of Athletics, John Currie (’93) because it shared the good news of our #1 ranked Diamond Deacs baseball team. Here’s what some of the media are saying about out Deacs’ historic performance:

“There’s a change atop the D1Baseball Top 25 rankings for the first time all season. Wake Forest ascends to No. 1 spot for the first time in the history of the rankings, which date back to 2015. The Demon Deacons have won all 12 of their weekends this year, keeping that streak alive with a hard-fought win against No. 19 Boston College. At 18-5 in the ACC, Wake leads the conference by four games.”

Lots of other great content in From the Quad too – much to celebrate with our athletic program.

Commencement setup has begun!

A quick look at the Quad Cam shows me that they have started to set up for Commencement. Earlier this morning, it looks like they had laid out the pieces that form the structure of the tent (something that I used to refer to as “Tentasaurus Rex,” because when they have all the parts laid out on the ground, it reminded me of a skeleton from some archeological dig).

Keep and eye on the Quad Cam in the coming days. The precision and exactness of how they place all the chairs is a thing of beauty to witness.

A look back for our P’23s

For our P’23s who are getting excited about graduation (a week from today!), my intrepid colleagues thought you might enjoy a little walk down Memory Lane. So they have shared the move-in video from August 21, 2019, when your Deacs moved in. You can view it here.

Final Grades

Final grades for undergraduate degree candidates will be viewable to students on May 10. (We need to get all the seniors loaded before Commencement). Final grades for all other undergraduate students (i.e., those who are not graduating) will be viewable on May 17.

Students control access to who can see their grades (and other things) through a process called Proxy Access. Especially for our incoming P’27s, you might want to have a conversation with your student about Proxy Access so you can come to a family understanding of what you/they want you to be able to see.
