I am a nerdy English major at heart and I love the word “penultimate” – second to last. Today is the penultimate day of classes, and LDOC (Last Day of Class) is tomorrow.

We’ve been very busy in my office (Communications and External Relations) trying to get all the final information ready for the launch of our New Students website for the Class of 2027, which will go live on Monday, May 1st. As such, today will be a quick Daily Deac.

The Wake Study Space website has been updated with Spring 2023 Finals information, including ZSR, 24/7 spaces in dining, etc. This is a terrific resource for students, as is the Waitz app, which shows you real-time occupancy in the ZSR library.

Note: the College does not manage all these spaces; they just collect the information and share for campus knowledge. 

Pizza with the Police tomorrow (April 26)

Our friends in University Police are once again hosting Pizza with the Police tomorrow:

“The Wake Forest University Police Department invites you to Pizza With The Police on April 26 from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Come by Zick’s for some free pizza and to chat with University Police.”

Shag on the Mag tomorrow (April 26)

I’m really excited that one of our signature spring events is coming back post-pandemic. Shag on the Mag is a great deal of fun – it involves shag dancing (aka dancing to beach music), and much more. See the description from The Link and the Corq app:

“Join us for the revamp of this campus tradition. Shag on the Mag is a semi-formal dance held in the spring semester. It often features live music, lots of dancing, good food, and drinks for those who are of age or choose to partake. This event is open to All students and is a great way to celebrate the end of the school year.

The event is free. However, those who wish to drink (beer and wine), will be required to purchase a wristband. There will be a variety of food and non-alcoholic beverages for all those in attendance. 

Please be sure to bring both your campus ID and your state-issued ID. This is the event that you don’t want to miss!”
