Today is simply glorious! The sun is out, the winds are calm, and it is a happy, happy weather day for all. As such, today I’ll share just a few news items upfront, but then will regale you with some of the best pictures that our crack photo team has been taking of late.
A sampling of upcoming events for students
We have a wide variety of events coming up for students. Here’s a sampling of just a few of them, but your Deacs should check the Corq app (or The Link website) to see what interests them.
Side by Side Star Wars tomorrow (April 20) at 7:30 p.m. in Brendle – the Wake Forest University Department of Music, Wake Forest University Symphony Orchestra, and members of the Reagan High School Band and Orchestra join forces to perform the original Star Wars Suite live at 7:30 p.m. tonight in Brendle Recital Hall. Bring friends for this night of Star Wars themed activities. Star Wars costumes and characters are welcome! This event is free. Please note: Lightsabers are welcome; please leave your blasters at home.
Finals: Strategies for Preparing for Exams and Reducing Stress, April 24 from 6-7 p.m. – Join CLASS (Center for Learning, Access, and Student Success) on Monday, April 24 from 6-7 p.m. in Angelou. This will be a working session with pizza served.
Students are invited to join us for the Remember With Us: Commemoration of the Enslaved event on April 25 from 4:30-5:00 p.m. at Wait Chapel. Members of the university community will remember and honor the enslaved individuals who worked for or were sold to benefit the university.
Shag on the Mag, April 26 at 7 p.m. on the Mag Quad – We are excited to announce the return of one of Wake’s most beloved traditions: Shag on the Mag. Join us on Wednesday, April 26 at 7 p.m. on the Mag Quad for live music and a DJ, food, photo booths and more!
Pups and Popsicles, April 27 from 10 a.m.- 12 noon Take a paws during exam week! Join us on Thursday, April 27th from 10 a.m.-12 noon on the field between the library and Salem Hall.
