Update to Mailing Address Instructions
In this Issue: update to mailing address instructions for student mail; information on senior portraits for The Howler yearbook; MLK Day hours of service
Happy Thursday, Deac families! I learned yesterday of a change to how student mail should be addressed and I want to share that promptly. Please discard any old mailing information you may have saved and replace it with the information below.
Update to mailing address instructions for student mail
Mail Services has shared an update on how to address student mailings via US Postal Service. USPS mailings should be addressed as:
Student Name
Box [their campus box #]
1834 Wake Forest Road
Wake Forest University
Winston-Salem, NC 27109
So if your Deac’s campus box was 8820, you would address US Postal Service mail as:
[Your Deac’s Name]
Box 8820
1834 Wake Forest Road
Wake Forest University
Winston-Salem, NC 27109
For FedEx, UPS and DHL letters or packages, you must use the following address template because they will not deliver to P.O. Boxes:
Student Name
1834 Wake Forest Road
Unit [their campus box #]
Wake Forest University
Winston-Salem, NC 27106
So if your Deac’s campus box was 8820, you would address FedEx, UPS, and DHL to:
[Your Deac’s Name]
1834 Wake Forest Road
Unit 8820
Wake Forest University
Winston-Salem, NC 27106
For Deacon Place Mail and Packages:
- Each apartment at Deacon Place shares one mailbox. Each of the four suitemates will have their own key to their mailbox.
- Each of the DP buildings has its own street address and each apartment at Deacon Place has its own mailing address. The building’s street number can be found near the breezeways on the exterior of each building. For example, the street address for building 2 is 2420 Whicker Acres Lane. If you live in apartment 103 in building 2, your mailing address would be: 2420 Whicker Acres Lane, Apt. 103, Winston-Salem, NC 27106. If you have questions about your mailing address, please contact Dana Muto at mutodw@wfu.edu.
- If your US Postal Service-delivered package will not fit into your mailbox, your package might be left in a larger parcel locker just beneath the mailboxes. In this case, a key will be left in your mailbox that will have a number on the key ring. That number will match the number on a parcel locker below. When you unlock the parcel locker, take your package and leave the key in the lock on the locker.
- If your USPS package will not fit in the mailbox or a parcel locker, the package will be delivered to your apartment door during business hours.
- Other packages (via UPS, FedEx, Amazon, etc.) will be delivered to your apartment door during business hours: 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Please keep this information handy if you plan to mail packages to your Deac.
Information on senior portraits for The Howler yearbook
I checked in with The Howler, our yearbook, on the senior portrait schedule for this spring. I was told: “Seniors graduating as part of the Class of 2023 (including those finishing their degrees in Dec. ’22, May ’23, and August ’23) will be able to schedule their Howler yearbook photos in January using a link that will be sent out by Prestige/LifeTouch via email. The Spring Semester photo times are February 6-10 and 13-17, 2023.
Email lists are generated by the Registrar, so if you or other seniors have not been receiving emails regarding senior portrait scheduling or yearbook purchasing, please reach out to our staff at howler@wfu.edu.”
