We’re back to the gloomy weather today: it was misting and gray this morning and it looks like it is going to stay that way through Sunday. Whenever we have a stretch of cruddy weather during finals, I always think somehow nature has appropriated our students’ collective mood.

Despite the gloomy weather, we do have some good news: one of our seniors, Tal Feldman, has been named to the 2023-24 class of Schwarzman Scholars: “Scholars selected from around the world will complete a one-year, fully-funded Master’s degree program in Global Affairs at Schwarzman College on the campus of Tsinghua University in Beijing, China. The program aspires to build a global network of young leaders that are prepared to confront the pressing challenges facing the world. Feldman is among 151 candidates selected this year from 36 countries and 121 universities worldwide.” Congratulations, Tal!

Only one email to share with you today: the Office of Residence Life and Housing sent a final reminder to resident students about how to prepare their rooms before they depart for winter break.

Finals week is almost finished. I know you – and your Deacs – are looking forward to the break. May they all travel home safely.
