It’s LDOC (Last Day of Class)! I’m out of the office much of today, so I will be brief.

Correction to yesterday’s Daily Deac: in our segment about our Campus Health Committee’s recommendations for winter break, I should have said we recommend “staying home if you test positive (or have the flu, RSV, stomach bug, etc.).” (Somehow yesterday I managed to type we recommend not staying home if you are ill, which is not the case at all – stay home if you are ill!).

Every student approaches finals/end-of-semester stress in different ways. Some students may act differently towards you than they normally would: they could be crabby, impatient, short with you – or on the contrary may be weepy, clingy, needing validation. We all process our stress in our own way. Know that if your Deac is acting differently towards you than they normally would, it’s likely not anything you did – but it is just the way they are processing all that is on their plate right now. Be gentle and understanding as much as possible, and reassure them that “You’ve got this!”

As we close out LDOC, I will leave you with some pictures from the Lighting of the Quad on Tuesday. (Click to enlarge). Enjoy!
