Since the Daily Deac gets sent out around 5 pm, I didn’t want to wait until the actual Hit the Bricks day (Thurs, Oct. 6th) to remind you to keep an eye on the Quad Cam and see if you can watch some of the action as Hit the Bricks unfolds. You may only get brief glimpses from in between the trees, or at the front of Wait Chapel, but it would be worth the occasional peek at the Quad Cam to see what you can see.

Since I am home recuperating from surgery, regrettably I can’t bring you any of the action myself. But I would encourage you to be sure to follow the official Wake Forest social media accounts, as they will likely be posting throughout the day. If your Deac is up on the Quad – whether as a team member or an observer – you can ask them to take some pictures and share them with you (might I recommend that the balcony of Reynolda Hall overlooking the Quad would be a great place for them to get a wide view of Hit the Bricks).

And if you don’t have time to watch Brian’s Song – the story of our alumnus and football legend Brian Piccolo, whose story inspired Hit the Bricks and other Wake philanthropic endeavors – you can at least watch this clip of James Caan singing our fight song 🙂

In other news, if your Deac missed the National Voter Registration Day on the 20th and they want to vote in NC, they can still look into registering in NC. Here are some specifics for college student registration, plus a link to how to register.

The NC voter registration deadline is October 14, for general elections taking place on November 8. After October 14, only same-day registration during one-stop early voting is available; learn more at Register in Person During Early Voting.
