For all our P’22s still with us, you will be very grateful that Commencement was not today or tomorrow. Today is a very steamy 88 (though my car thermometer said 92) and tomorrow is supposed to be a high of 96. For those of you who enjoy my favorite meme about NC weather, May seems too early to be here, and yet… NC has 12 seasons. We are in "Hell's Front Porch"

I saw this gem on the WFU Twitter account today. It is a quick little video of our graduates thanking people. (I’m not crying – you’re crying!)

Some of you may be coming to town for the big Paul McCartney concert on Saturday the 21st at Truist Field. If you need the details on the event, this page has all the particulars. While there are no COVID vaccine checks or mask requirements in place, there is a clear bag policy, so be sure to read up on that before you arrive.

Though to my knowledge this is the first time we will have had a Beatle performing at Wake Forest, we do have a rich tradition of big-name artists performing here. Our very own Wake Forest Magazine compiled a list a few years ago. I am sure you recognize some of these names:

The Lettermen, Dave Matthews, Peter, Paul & Mary, Al Hirt, The Drifters, The Four Seasons, Dionne Warwick, Carlos Montoya, Widespread Panic, Pat Benatar, The Fifth Dimension, Duke Ellington, Chuck Berry, Fleetwood Mac, The Spinners, The Temptations, Ben Folds, Stray Cats, Indigo Girls, Blues Traveler, The Rascals, The Four Tops, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Richie Havens, Graham Nash, Randy Newman, Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Jurassic 5, Bruce Hornsby, Jason Mraz, Ben Harper, The Association, Harry Chapin, Skip Castro, Pure Prairie League, Sara Bareilles, Southside Johnny & The Asbury Jukes, Toad The Wet Sprocket.

Just to name a few. 🙂
