It’s a beautiful day today – sunny, but a bit cooler, low 70s tops (but with the breeze, it feels a bit chilly). Looks like we will hover in the high 60s-low 70s until Monday, when we’ll start hitting the 80s again.

Yesterday I mentioned Wake the Library, which is one of my favorite finals tradition. The intrepid folks at the ZSR published a cute video about Wake the Library that you might enjoy.

We had a late news item yesterday that did not make it into the Daily Deac. There was a brief road closure on University Parkway yesterday; see the message. Today, there was a message about a power outage midday on the north part of campus.

For those of you who are news wonks, we have a new WFU In the News, which covers April 18-24. This story about seniors entering the workforce caught my eye: “A large majority of college seniors say they are prepared to enter the workforce and feel hopeful about the future, according to a new survey from TimelyMD. Andy Chan, vice president for innovation and career development at Wake Forest, said he was especially surprised that only 7% of seniors with job offers said they were hired for a lower rate of pay than they expected.”

For students considering grad school instead of immediately entering the workforce, this could be a great option: “The International Leaders Program (ILP) at the Wake Forest University School of Business is a two-year sequential MS in Management (MSM) and MS in Business Analytics (MSBA) degree experience designed for international students to learn core business fundamentals and analytical methodologies to tackle complex problems across a variety of industries. To apply, complete the MSM application and indicate your ILP interest by using the promo code LEADERS to waive the fee and short answer essays. The deadline to apply is May 15, 2022.”

You know from time to time I like to share parenting articles that come my way. I was turned o to this article on empty nesting during a meeting with a Wake parent and one of the subject matter experts interviewed in this article. Note that it is from The Wall Street Journal, so it is a paid/subscriber site.

Many of you wrote to say how much you enjoy seeing Ken Bennett’s amazing photos, so I am trying to add more of them when I can. We’ve had a change in our blog software and the pictures were rending very large in the email version, so I am trying to keep them small here, but clickable so you can enlarge. I do love a tulip picture 🙂
