It’s the end of the week, and Fridays are always fun days, because you know you have the weekend to enjoy. And it is going to be a terrific weather weekend – mid to high 60s/low 70s; looks like we might get some rain Tuesday or Weds. of next week, but it will also be close to 80 on Weds. Good times.

Looking ahead to next week, Student Union will be hosting Springfest, which has a number of great options for your Deacs to enjoy:

I also hear that there is a Spring Concert on Saturday, April 9th from 3-6 pm on  Manchester Plaza, but not sure they have released the artist yet – so your Deacs will have to stay tuned and check the Corq app for more details.

Our final Face to Face event for this academic year will be with Dr. Sanjay Gupta, neurosurgeon and multiple Emmy-award-winning chief medical correspondent for CNN. The student-only event will be held in Wait Chapel on April 12 at 5:30 p.m., and students were sent instructions on how to submit questions for Dr. Gupta in advance via yesterday’s issue of the WFU Should Know student e-newsletter. For any parents and families who want to hear from Dr. Gupta, you can visit the Face to Face website for ticket information.

In years past, pre-pandemic and pre-global conflicts, I used to love trying to pull one over on the Daily Deacdom for April Fools day. It feels like there’s enough heavy stuff in the world that it doesn’t feel like the right time for a silly gag. Maybe next year.

For now, hope you have a great weekend!
