More opportunities
A belated Happy Purim to all our families who are celebrating.
I was in a meeting this morning where we talked about a lot of upcoming events for students, so wanted to share them with you.
Women’s History Month continues, and there are a great many programs and events that students can attend from today through the end of the month.
Earth Month is just around the corner – it is from March 20th to April 22nd and the theme is Many Minds, Great Discoveries. They have a full calendar of events, but I want to mention the Spring Equinox Celebration, which will be this Sunday, March 20 from 4–6 pm in the Campus Garden (1141 Polo Road). “The Spring Equinox Celebration is a festive gathering of people, plants, and animals hosted at the Campus Garden. As a community, we will welcome the start of Spring by spreading wildflower seeds, painting a mural on the garden shed, sampling plant-forward food and interacting with chickens, chicks and bees. Participants will have the opportunity to learn about food waste with Campus Kitchen and visit ZSR Library’s Free Little Library to take home an environmentally-themed read.”
We also have a Wellbeing for Women of Color initiative coming up that has a series of events, as well as a Touch, Taste, and Healing event on March 29th. Students can see the graphics below for details.

Last but certainly not least, Pizza with the Police is coming up on March 30th. Urge your Deac to head to Zick’s to get some pizza and talk to our campus police staff.

For families who live in select cities in FL, GA, NC, SC, TN, and TX, there are Pro Humanitate Days happening in your states. These events celebrate our motto, Pro Humanitate (for humanity) through service projects and volunteering in local communities. While Pro Humanitate Days are organized though the Office of Alumni Engagement, these events are open to alumni, parents and families, and friends of Wake Forest. If you live in one of those states, visit this website to check out the offerings and register to participate if you are interested.
It’s sunny and glorious today. Hope your Deacs are finding time to be outdoors and take in this great weather!
