The campus community was sent a message this morning reminding of the Face to Face event this evening at 6:30 pm in Wait Chapel; This event features Larry Culp (P ’17, P ’19, P ’23), University Trustee and CEO of GE, and Gene Woods, CEO of Atrium Health. They will be discussing radical collaboration in a moderated conversation with University Trustee Marybeth Torbet Hays (’90, MBA ’94). Tickets are not required.

Tonight we also have a performance of the Secrest Artists Series: Jazz vocalist Stacey Kent will perform in Brendle Recital Hall at 7:30 pm. Admission is free for WFU students; students can reserve admission here.

The Inauguration Ceremony will be livestreamed on Friday, March 25, at 3 p.m. Parents and families, we hope you will participate in this historic event by viewing the Inauguration livestream.

Yesterday, we hosted a series of service projects as part of a Day of Service during Inauguration Week: “Around 9 a.m. in room 410 in Benson University Center, volunteers filled 800 bags with juice, milk, cereal, protein and applesauce, and 115 bags with apples and oranges. The bags will be donated to the Forsyth Backpack Project, which will give them to students at Cook Literacy Model School.” You can read about the other volunteer service programs here.

The student e-newsletter, WFU Should Know was sent out this afternoon; read it here. And for those who like to keep abreast of where Wake Foresters are in the news, we have the WFU in the News roundup from March 14-20.

We’ll close with an academic note today: for undergraduate students, there are three upcoming academic deadlines on March 28th:

  • Last day to drop with a grade of “W” for full-term courses
  • Last day to drop second part-of-term classes
  • Last day to change from a letter grade to pass/fail in an approved second part-of-term class

Important note: dropping with a grade of “W” and changing grade mode for second part-of-term courses require conversations with instructors and advisers and require approvals, so students should begin the process prior to the 28th so that they can have all necessary approvals/documentation submitted by the deadline.
