Today’s post is a guest message from the Office of the Dean of Students (who plans and facilitates Family Weekend). Before we get there, want to share links to a message for 2020 graduates who registered for Commencement, and the WFU Should Know e-newsletter our students received yesterday.

Family Weekend is almost here! We’re gearing up to greet our Demon Deacon families October 1-3.  If you haven’t registered yet, please do so as soon as possible.

Please note that online ticket and t-shirt sales will close September 19 at 11:59 PM. ***After September 19th***:

  • No further changes to existing ticket orders may be made.
  • Families may still register for the weekend, using this link. (Note that this link will not go live until 9/20).
  • Football tickets should be purchased at godeacs.com.

A limited number of t-shirts will be available for purchase during the weekend.

As the weekend approaches, families may have a variety of questions. Please visit our Frequently Asked Questions page prior to arrival on campus so you know what to expect.

Here are some important “how-to” items:

How to pick up your Family Weekend purchases (tickets, t-shirts, etc.) when you arrive on campus:

All purchased items will be available for pickup at the Benson University Center in the fourth floor rotunda. If needed, your student will be able to pick up your order with their student ID.

The Welcome & Check-in Area will be open:

Friday, October 1 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM

Saturday, October 2 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Important Note on football tickets: Football tickets will not be paper, and delivery will be mobile, about 10 days prior to the game day. Mobile tickets will be delivered via an email titled “Your Mobile Pass(es) Have Arrived” from the address tix@wfu.edu. Please be sure to add tix@wfu.edu to your email contacts to help prevent the email from going to your spam folder.

Where to park during the weekend:

On Friday, families are welcome to park in any of the general lots shown on the Reynolda Campus Parking Map. A special shuttle will be circling campus to assist families with traveling from parking lots. (Click here for more information about the shuttle.) After 5 PM and during the day Saturday and Sunday, most campus lots are available for families.

Accessible parking is found throughout campus in marked spaces.

Game Day Reminders:

  • Clear Bag Policy – there is a clear bag policy at Truist Field. Clear bags are sold at the campus bookstore on Hearn Plaza.
  • Carolina Classic Fair – our local fair will be happening across the street from Truist Field and will cause a significant increase in our normal game day traffic. Be sure to start your trip to the stadium early.
  • Free shuttles to the game – Free shuttles will be available to the stadium area from Lot P.
  • Parking at the game – Game day parking is available at the LJVM Coliseum for $20 per car. Because of the Carolina Classic Fair, parking may be limited.
  • Game Day parking and shuttle information

Public Health Guidelines

While proof of vaccination isn’t required for guests, we encourage vaccinations for all. Over 90% of our campus community is vaccinated. We greatly appreciate the willingness of everyone in the Wake Forest community to adhere to and follow health and safety guidelines to support the safety of all Wake Foresters. Currently, all academic buildings are closed to visitors, and masks are required in all indoor spaces. For additional information regarding steps the University is taking to minimize the risk of COVID-19 transmission on campus, we strongly encourage you to review the University’s COVID-19 Notice.

Family Weekend is on Instagram! Follow us and use #wfuFW during the weekend to share your pics and stories!

We’ll share more about Family Weekend (including any changes to public health guidance) a little closer to the weekend. For now, know we are working hard on the weekend and look forward to welcoming everyone very soon!
