Today I will share some news from various parts of campus. This morning, President Wente shared a message with the campus community. In that message, Dr. Wente provided an update on the building formerly known as Wingate Hall: it will be referred to as the Divinity and Religious Studies Building until a permanent name is approved. We shared her message with all parents and families as well. (As a reminder, all campuswide emails are hosted on our Family News page).
My colleagues who work with the news media have a feature that goes up on their website each week that’s called Wake Forest in the News, and I am trying to make it a regular “Tuesday Newsday” feature where I link to it. Here is the Wake Forest in the News from August 2-8.
Graduates in the Class of 2020 received an email to say registration for Commencement for the Class of 2020 has opened. If you have a 2020 graduate, please encourage them to check their email, as it contains a link to register for Commencement (note that the graduate has to register for the tickets, not the parents/family members).
Our Associate Chaplain for Jewish Life, Gail Bretan, wanted me to invite all Jewish families to sign up for their weekly Jewish Life enewsletter. You can do that here.
The last week or two before move-in begins is an incredibly busy time on campus, so I’ll keep this short and sweet today. Just know how very excited we are to be welcoming you and your students to campus soon!!
